By wondering with children! We start with information that families share in the application to curate provocations in science, math, arts, global and social studies. The majority of activities incorporate literacy, inquiry, and hands-on experiences. This is a process to develop critical thinking, practice empathy, and be guided by curiosity. We individualize activities based on children’s interests and national grade level standards.

Delicious food- we’re in New Orleans! We offer breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. We follow the national nutritional guidelines while emphasizing local, fresh and seasonal ingredients. Meal time is an opportunity to informally talk about food groups, model healthy eating habits, and learn community food practices. Children will sometimes participate in food preparation, like juicing fruits for snack.

Our curriculum is designed to respond to specific needs and interests where children practice advocating for their needs, and feel their needs responded to, in a caring environment. We leverage relationships with learning specialists to support curriculum and learning activities.
Please include your concerns in the contact form and/or application. This way we can converse with specifics.

We’re starting small with a class size of 6:1 child-teacher ratio, allowing for personalized attention and meaningful peer learning across multiple age groups. We are open to children from 3 years old to 10 years old.

Yes and No. We focus on plants, animals, humans, insects, birds, and so many other living beings throughout the day because we have connected experiences.
A recent example from our day: It was a chillier morning but the sun was shining bright. The wind blew the mulberry tree leaves and the wind chime sang. The children looked over at the leaves and started jumping over the ferns, running through the bushes. We heard a crow caw caw. The children wondered if we should start to build a shelter in case the rain came.
This was a moment where shifts in weather impacted the leaves, trees, birds, other plants, and children. A mix of listening to sounds in the environment, feeling how your body responds and deciding an action based on the influences - a beautiful weaving of science, social, emotional and environmental learning.
Please share other thoughts/questions through the contact form.
